Week 5 Summary
The week was quite eventful for the team. To start off the weekend, we dropped off metal to be anodized at our great sponsor named HardCoat inc. In addition to that, the team was able to finish the entire drivetrain and start construction of the elevator. On Sunday we started to attach electronics to the drivetrain.
Monday-6th
Monday was super busy for the team. The day started out with its usual routine. Students checking for packages and the newly assembled drive train coming out. With a newly cut belly pan, students worked on attaching the pan to the main chassis. In addition to the belly pan, the team continued to do its final assembly of the swerve drive.
Monday night had its famous marketing meeting where they worked on finalizing the T-shirt and sponsor emails. Another great day for the team. A somewhat assembled drivetrain and newly cut plates from our CNC
Tuesday-7th
Tuesday was also a very busy day for the team, with all the parts for the robot, the team quickly got to work assembling it. Timothy finished assembling the frame for the practice bot and mounted the swerve modules to it. He and Isaac then went to work soldering to CAN bus together. While that was occurring, Riley continued to work on the robot’s intake system. The team just received new parts from CEM and team members were beginning to put them together.

Wednesday- 8th
Wednesday was very different for Talon. Instead of the usually scheduled open room; Talon had a team builder at a local charity organization called Feed My Starving Children. At the event, team members packed nutritional rations to send to those in need. By using team stations everyone had their own station that produced and packed the meals.
Once the event ended, open room began. While very quiet that evening, the CNC cut plates and the robot was slightly tweaked.
Thursday-9th
Thursday was quiet for the team. There was a programming meeting where everyone was working on the code for our robot’s conveyor belt. They also worked on all the other robot subsystems, but with a robot still needing to be assembled. Programming ended the meeting with its regular updates and help.
On the build side of things, the day wasn’t much different. The CNC continued its work on our belly pan. Students in the room worked on making hex shafts and cutting churros. Adhi taught CAD to a newer team member.
Friday-10th
Friday the CNC cut new plates that would be used over the weekend. Timothy worked on wiring the robot. Friday was mainly spent preparing the team for the coming days, no major building events happened that day.
